For Immediate Release Prodigy Group Donates $6000 to Local Charities Nov. 9, 2011 VICTORIA – Through events and programs held this year, the Prodigy Group raised $3000 for each of two charities; Junior Achievement and Community Micro Lending. Members of the group will be presenting cheques to the charities at their special ‘Community Connections’ Mingle Thursday Nov.10th at Temple. At this event Ray Parks, CEO of the Provincial Capital Commission, will be speaking on the benefits and importance of being on boards and contributing to the community. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our emerging professionals to get linked to the community organizations that need their help” said Ray Parks “this event is all about giving back so that everyone in the community benefits.” Prodigy Group, a committee of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, is committed to being an active and engaged community member. “We think it is incredibly important to support these charities as they contribute so much to our community,” said Janell Karst, Prodigy Board Chair. “Both Junior Achievement and Community Micro Lending support the development of future business leaders, making them a natural fit for our organization.” Photo Opportunities are available.
